Application deadline for January nursing program is Nov. 30

NICEVILLE — Northwest Florida State College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is accepting applications for the January 2013 term. Deadline to apply is Nov. 30. See  www.nwfsc.edu/RNtoBSN for an application to the mostly online program.

Through the college’s RN-to-BSN program, those with an associate degree in nursing may earn up to 90 credits for prior coursework and Florida RN licensure toward their BSN degree. Many nurses may start the program with nearly 75 percent of requirements completed and may earn a BSN in less than a year.

To accommodate working nurses, BSN program courses are primarily online; students, along with clinical facilities and faculty, determine the clinical days and times. Clinical rotations include 14 to 16 student-scheduled days at shelters for homeless individuals and underserved populations. Students complete a senior practicum with an experienced nursing leader.

A number of scholarships specific to the nursing program are available to qualifying students.
