Registration for personal enrichment classes begins

NICEVILLE—The schedule of Spring 2013 PRIME Time personal enrichment classes offered by Northwest Florida State College is available on the college website at www.nwfsc.edu/schedule. Additionally, it’s available at community locations like libraries and chambers of commerce, or by calling the NWFSC Continuing Education Department at 729-6084.

All PRIME Time courses provide personal enrichment with no grades or tests given.

PRIME Time non-credit classes, open to adults, run January through March and range from $20 to $75. Course topics include computers, health, foods, fitness, politics, arts and gardening.

Registration begins Jan. 10, 2013 at all seven college locations and online. Classes take place primarily at the Niceville campus, South Walton Center and Chautauqua Center in DeFuniak Springs. Registration is ongoing until the first class session, space permitting. 

More than 40 courses offered on the NWFSC Niceville campus include new offerings on gardening in Florida, digital photography for beginners, fly-fishing, basic Bonsai techniques, chair yoga and “Your Ancestry: Folk Remedies & Traditional Foods.”

The 15 courses offered in South Walton and Destin include a new Lunch and Learn on “Unsolved Mysteries, Crimes & Disappearances in America,” held at Rutherfords 465 in Regatta Bay on March 4; Zumba Gold, digital photography, acrylic art, drawing, computers, Apple’s iPad 2 and Adobe Photoshop. The Chef’s Choice of the Emerald Coast features Rocky Bayou Country Club, Crab Island Cantina and Rotolo’s Pizzeria in Destin.

The seven courses offered at the college’s Chautauqua Center in DeFuniak Springs include Fitness 101, beginning and intermediate conversational Spanish,  the new course “Arrow Heads to Bagpipes: Unearthing Walton County’s Intriguing Past,” jewelry making and digital photography for beginners.

PRIME Time participants receive the benefits of regular NWF State College students, including library use, access to special events and free parking.
