The victim was shopping about 4:30 p.m. when a 20-year-old Crestview man tried to pull her purse off her shoulder, according to his Crestview Police Department arrest report.
When he grabbed her purse, he pulled her to the ground with it, the report said. The defendant fled without the purse.
A witness helped to positively identify him later.
