NWFSC plans March 3 'Cash 4 College' workshop

NICEVILLE — Northwest Florida State College's fourth annual “Cash 4 College” financial aid workshop is 1-4 p.m. March 3 in the Student Services Center on the Niceville campus. The workshop helps students and parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

It is open to everyone, regardless of which college an individual is attending or plans to attend.

NWFSC Financial Aid staff will help participants create FAFSA personal identification numbers and process the FAFSA application.

“Even if you think you may not be eligible for a Pell grant or federal aid, it is important to complete the online form because Florida Bright Futures and 90 percent of the scholarships and awards out there now require a FAFSA application,” said Pat Bennett, NWFSC director of financial aid.

The following items are necessary to complete the form and should be brought to the workshop by those who wish to complete the FAFSA at the event: driver’s license, Social Security numbers, 2012 tax return, W-2 and any untaxed income information including child support or Social Security. The same items are needed for both the student and parent for students under age 24.

In addition to financial aid information, college representatives will provide information about the college to those interested in attending NWFSC.
