CRESTVIEW —  Crestview police officers are investigating a traffic collision that occurred this morning at the Tom Thumb gas station on South Ferdon Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. and injured two people, according to CPD public information officer Andrew Schneider.

The incident occurred when a unidentified male driving a white Ford Edge stopped to pump gas at the station, when the gas pump he was using was struck by a Isuzu Rodeo.

Gas station employees quickly moved the man to safety and he was transported by ambulance to a Pensacola area hospital for injuries.

The unidentified person driving the Rodeo was transported to North Okaloosa Medical Center for minor injuries, Schneider said.

The collision caused a fire that damaged the Ford vehicle. Firefighters from the Crestview Fire Department extinguished the flames.

The police department is expected to release more information on this incident later today.
