Crestview Force bound for national tournament

The Crestview Force sixth-grade boys basketball team captured Florida’s AAU Division 2 District Championship last month and qualified for July’s national tournament.

The Crestview Force sixth-grade boys basketball team will play in a national tournament in July in Hampton, Va., following its April 28 Florida Amateur Athletic Union Division 2 District Championship win.

The team last month competed against top-caliber AAU programs in a tournament at The Big House Sports Complex in Tavares. The Force won its pool and advanced through the playoffs with wins against the St. Cloud Titans (52-20) and the E.Y.S.F. Panthers (72-57). It defeated the Leesburg T.G.F.B. (56-53) in the championship game.

“The championship win was a great accomplishment for the Force program,” a spokesperson said. “All of the players competed fiercely and represented Crestview well.”

The team’s motto is "Hard work pays off on and off the court."
