Dear editor,
The International Motor Sports center in Daytona is being awarded the recycling recognition award. This is for their outstanding recycling of equipment used at the tracks and by reducing the amount of waste that is being sent to landfills.
I think it is amazing that a large organization like Daytona International Speedway, with the amount of domestic and international races that it holds each year, is able to make a substantial influence on recycling as well as cleaning the environment.
I have noticed that Crestview has not made many strides into this field; maybe the town could somehow increase the environmental awareness and compete for a similar award.
