Former Northwood principal named STEMM administrator

Jacqueline Craig

CRESTVIEW — The Okaloosa County School Board has named Jacqueline Craig its STEMM Academy administrator. Craig also serves as Northwest Florida Ballet Académie administrator.

The academy has 60 sixth-graders enrolled, according to Craig, who said tours are scheduled for potential students.

Several school board members have said they will continue to support the school’s science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medical curriculum even if they must supplement its budget.

The board hasn’t set a meeting date to vote on the school’s fate, but Superintendent of Schools Mary Beth Jackson has stated she will recommend keeping the school open for at least two more years.

Earlier this year, Craig requested a transfer from Northwood Elementary School, where she was principal, Jackson said.
