Ballet Académie gets full-time administrator

The Northwest Florida Ballet Académie now has a full-time district administrator.

The Okaloosa County School Board has unanimously approved Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson’s recommendation to move Kelly Day into the assistant principal position full time.

Prior to Day’s transfer, Assistant Principal Jacqueline Craig was dividing her time between the Ballet Académie and the STEMM Academy. Growth at the STEMM Academy, however, kept Craig busy, and a few issues with class scheduling and technology highlighted the need for an in-house administrator at both schools, Jackson said.

Day, who previously worked as an assistant principal at Choice High School and Technical Center in Fort Walton Beach, will be the fifth administrator to oversee the Ballet Académie in the past few years.
