CRESTVIEW — Chesser & Barr’s Main Street office helped the regional law firm celebrate its 35th anniversary on the Emerald Coast with a local street party.
Civic leaders and professionals dodged a downpour as they dashed between the firm's office and a big, white tent set up on Beech Avenue. As the rain let up, guests mingled at outdoor tables, enjoying cuisine catered by Mary Richard's A Grand Elegance.
Acoustic guitarist Jordan Rogers, a Crestview student at Northwest Florida State College, provided music. His mother, Ashley, is one of the firm's attorneys.
The firm also used the Oct. 17 event to unveil three lobby paintings depicting vintage World War II-era aviation scenes, including a ground crew servicing a bomber.
Rogers found the paintings by Lithuanian artist Ruta Kanaporis at the offices of Emerald Coast Aviation when flying from Bob Sikes Airport.
"Everybody has their own favorite," office manager Johnna Drake said as guests paused to admire the paintings.
Chesser and Barr has been in Crestview since February 2011.
