Crestview man charged with aggravated assault following eviction-related standoff

CRESTVIEW — A man is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer after arming himself with a shotgun and refusing to obey an eviction notice, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office stated.

DeWayne Moore, 57, is charged with the second-degree felony after reportedly pointing a shotgun toward a sheriff's deputy after the depty gained entry in the Booker Street residence, which had been locked and barricaded.

The Crestview Police Department assisted with the matter and Moore was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail following a two-hour standoff.
