New Bob Sikes Airport terminal taking shape

Crestview Bob Sikes Airport fixed-base operator Emerald Coast Aviation's new terminal rises adjacent to the company's hangars.

Emerald Coast Aviation's $600,000, 5,600-square-foot terminal is rising south of the Crestview Bob Sikes Airport fixed-base operator's hangars.

It will house a reception area, a lounge, a pilots' snooze room with shower, a conference room, offices for ECA President Jonathan Dunn and his staff and an enclosed courtyard overlooking the airport.

ECA is funding the terminal's construction; no taxpayer dollars are being used for the building or the adjacent parking area, which will be constructed by Okaloosa County Airports through airport user fees, Dunn and county airports officials said.

The terminal should be completed in six to eight months, he said.
