DeFuniak man faces court date for multiple Winn-Dixie visits

A DeFuniak Springs man charged with trespass after warning has an April 8 plea date after repeatedly visiting Winn-Dixie under false pretenses, according to a Crestview Police Department arrest report.

As a Crestview police officer walked up to the North Ferdon Boulevard store's front entrance in March he was approached by William Joseph Sullins, 54, who reportedly said, “You must be here to talk to me.” The officer asked why he’d want to talk to him and Sullins said, “Because I am not supposed to be here,” the arrest report stated.

Sullins continued to visit the store after employees advised him not to, a Winn-Dixie manager said. Sullins said he believed he’d left his cell phone in the store, which was later determined to be untrue, she said.

Sullins said he was contacted by a “Cindy” at Winn-Dixie who said he could visit the store, but the manager said nobody named Cindy worked there.

Another  police officer warned Sullins to stay out of the store in February, police said.
