Crestview Fire receives grant to help find missing residents with Alzheimer's

CRESTVIEW —  The Crestview Fire Department has been awarded a $660 Emergency Response Project Grant from the Pilot Club of Pensacola.

The $660 grant will help purchase equipment for Project Lifesaver, which helps provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury of people who wander due to Alzheimer’s, autism and related conditions.

Project Lifesaver enrollees wear a small tracking device around the wrist or ankle. If an enrolled client goes missing, the caregiver notifies the local Project Lifesaver agency, and a trained emergency team responds to the wanderer’s area.
