Baker sets football trifecta for Friday

BAKER — If football is your passion, Baker School's Doug Griffith Memorial Stadium is the place to be Friday night.

A football trifecta will take place with the Gators' intersquad scrimmage. They will be joined by the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps' powder puff game and an alumni flag football tournament.

Action starts at 5:30 p.m. with the alumni flag football and continues through the evening. Cost for everything is $5.

"Last year we coupled with our JROTC and had powder puff with our spring scrimmage and it was an awesome Friday afternoon," Gator head football coach and athletic director Matt Brunson said. "This year we are adding alumni flag football. I just wanted to do something to give back to some of the older guys.

"Friday is going to be a big day in Baker."

Cameron Domangue, a 2008 all-state running back for the Gators, is helping to coordinate the alumni flag football along with Baker assistant coach Brian Wagner, Brunson said.

Other confirmed Baker alumni are Adam Henry and James Rockwell.

The 2014 Gators will take the field at 6 p.m. followed by the first half of powder puff at 6:45 p.m., Brunson said.

Action will continue throughout the evening with the Gators, the alumni and powder puff teams rotating on the field for their competitions.

Pancake breakfast

The big weekend concludes 7-10 a.m. Saturday when the football team hosts an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast in the school cafeteria. Cost is $5.

The Gators also will have a free car wash: first come, first served.
