Crestview boy organizes weekly touch football games

Crestview's Marley Paradise organizes weekly games of touch football.

CRESTVIEW— Many kids like video games, but Marley Paradise prefers the outdoors.

However, prior to just a few months ago, a fraction of the 50 kids in his neighborhood played outside.

So the Antioch Elementary School fifth-grader did something about it.

He organized a neighborhood touch football game that has attracted between 10 and 20 kids, far surpassing his expectations of a few friends.

The children play the game at noon each Sunday at Countryview Park, and Marley organizes the events, even calling kids with reminders beforehand.

It's become quite a community event, with parents serving as referees or even playing as needed, Marley's mother, Shannon, said.
