Northwest Florida State College's Costa Leadership Institute is accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Leadership Okaloosa program.
The nine-month program — designed to enhance the participant’s leadership skills and provide community awareness — runs in partnership with the Crestview, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Niceville-Valparaiso chambers of commerce
The class meets monthly from September to May, participants receive classroom training by a certified instructor and are given opportunities to interact with various key community leaders throughout the process. A highlight is a two-day trip to Tallahassee for the Legislative Day meetings. Tours of area businesses such as the Northwest Florida Regional Airport, Hurlburt Field and Eglin Air Force Base provide participants with an understanding of the community.
Applications are due July 26, and tuition is $900; a limited number of partial scholarships are available for nonprofit staff members. Applications are available at www.nwfsc.edu/LI, by calling 729-6880 or emailing Leadership@NWFSC.edu.
