CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Rotary Club presented a $4,000 college scholarship and proclamation to Brinn Jones, 11, in memory of his late mother, Jeri Jones.
Jeri Jones, an assistant to former Crestview City Clerk Janice Young, died after battling cancer when Brinn was a toddler. She was a dedicated Rotarian, Rotary secretary Pat Hollarn said.
“We wanted to do something for Brinn in her memory,” Hollarn said.
The scholarship will be held in escrow until Brinn enters college.
He will be awarded $1,000 for each of a four-year program of study, Rotarian Don Turner said.
