$7,600 donated so far for Crestview PD K-9s

CRESTVIEW — Four more contributors have brought K-9s for Crestview donations to more than a quarter of the campaign's $30,000 goal.

The Crestview Police Department effort to raise money to reconstitute its K-9 unit has met with a positive response, campaign coordinator Officer Sam Kimmons said.

“The community is showing its support already,” Kimmons said.

Recent business and individual supporters donating $1,000 each include Little Caesar’s Pizza, Margaret Wilson and Richard Russell. A fourth donor wished to remain anonymous.

Another anonymous donor gave $1,050 this week, Kimmons said, while a young child gave 25 cents she had saved up, bringing total donations to $7,596.25.

In further fundraising efforts, on July 3, Leon’s Barbershop on Main Street will donate $1 from every haircut to K-9s for Crestview.

Donation checks may be made payable to the Crestview Police Department Auxiliary. For information, contact Kimmons at 305-7831 or kimmonss@crestviewpd.org.
