NWF State College gets community contributions

Six Northwest Florida State College students will receive scholarship support for the 2014-2015 academic year thanks to a $4,000 donation from the Twin Cities Woman’s Club.

The club has provided annual scholarship awards for 20 years to adult women beginning or returning to college and need assistance to complete a college education.

To date, the club has given $83,000 in support and provided 170 scholarship awards to NWFSC students.

In addition:

•The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses of the Emerald Coast presented the Northwest Florida State College Foundation a $4,000 gift to provide the 13th annual AORN Scholarship.

AORN contributes scholarship support for NWF State College nursing students who seek careers as operating room nurses. AORN has provided more than $50,700 in scholarship funds since 2002. 

•NWF State's Walton County education majors have an opportunity for scholarship assistance thanks to the Walton County Retired Educators Association.

The organization's scholarship endowment recently added $3,000 in contributions. To date, the $24,800 has provided nine awards.
