Police to serve meals at Beef 'O' Brady's, earn tips for K9s

CRESTVIEW — Waiters in blue will tote drinks and meals rather than guns and citation books Saturday when Crestview Police officers take over serving duties at the Crestview Beef ‘O’ Brady’s.

Cops for Canines is an officer-led fundraiser that is part of the department’s efforts to self-fund its K-9 unit's revival, Police Chief Tony Taylor said.

“Cops will wait at your table,” Taylor said. “They will be supervised by the waitresses so you won't have anything dumped on you.”

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s management agreed to pay the restaurant’s wait staff its regular wages while the officers perform their duties, Taylor said.

Cops for Canines, part of the department’s K9s for Crestview campaign, seeks to help raise the $30,000 necessary to purchase and train two police dogs.

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s is located at 2509 S. Ferdon Blvd., Crestview, in the shopping center with Big Lots.
