Veterans invited to Governor’s Veterans Service Award Ceremony

CRESTVIEW — The Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs invites local veterans to be honored next week by Gov. Rick Scott with the Governor’s Veterans Service Award medal. 

The Governor’s Veterans Service Award honors Floridians who have served in the U.S. military. The front of the medal depicts the Great Seal of the State of Florida. The back of the medal displays the five seals representing the five branches of U.S. military with an inscription that reads “Honoring Those Who Served.”

The event is at 2 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Crestview National Guard Armory, 870th Engineer Company, 1518 E. James Lee Blvd., Crestview.
