CRESTVIEW — A 33-year-old Crestview woman charged with battery-touching or striking and burglary of a structure-unarmed with a person inside is due in court Oct. 7.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the residence Aug. 25, according to the arrest report. Rekesha Ladaune Wilkerson rang the victim’s doorbell and pushed her way into the home when he answered.
Once inside, she headed upstairs to “attack” another woman in the home, the report said. Wilkerson had been in a relationship with the victim before 2012, but had “remained friends.”
Upstairs, the victim grabbed Wilkerson and tried to escort her out of the home, according to the report. The two “wrestled into the guest bedroom,” where Wilkerson picked up some golf clubs.
She threatened the victim with a club, but eventually put it down, the report said. The victim “forcefully” escorted her down the stairs.
Once Wilkerson got to the bottom of the stairs, the woman walked to the top of the stairs and the two “exchanged some words,” according to the report. Wilkerson struck the victim while he was holding her back from attacking the other woman.
He took Wilkerson into the kitchen, where she grabbed a bottle of wine and demanded he “let her at” the woman, the report said. Wilkerson again tried to go past the man, and they wrestled in the living room while the other woman called law enforcement.
