The Baker School football team turned Friday's District 1-1A War of Highway 4 football game into a playoff clinching win as the Gators routed the Royals 42-14.
Junior quarterback Jon Beck led the Gator attack running for three touchdowns and throwing for two more as Baker (7-0, 2-0) extended its regular season winning streak to 18 games.
A 7-yard touchdown pass from Beck to Josh Long gave the Gators their first score of the day. Beck scored Baker's next touchdown on a 25-yard run. Beck again teamed up with Long on a 28-yard touchdown pass for the third Gator score.
Beck had touchdown runs of five yards and 23 yards before Austin Davis closed out the Gator scoring with a 56-yard run.
The Gator win sets up a showdown with Northview for the district championship on Halloween at Baker's Doug Griffith Memorial Stadium. The Chiefs beat Freeport 43-9 Friday.
Baker tries to remain perfect on the year Friday when the Gators host Franklin County for Homecoming 2014.
