CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department is seeking a suspect and vehicle involved in an attempted child abduction this morning.
According to the CPD Facebook and web pages, a 10-year-old girl reported an attempted abduction this morning at a bus stop located near the intersection of Secretariat Drive and Sandstone Trail.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the girl said a man tried to persuade her to get into his car around 8 a.m.
The girl then ran to a nearby home, when police were contacted.
The child gave police a description of the suspect and his vehicle. Police are looking for a black man, bald with brown eyes, with a slender but muscular build. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray short-sleeved shirt. He has a large scar or scratch on the inside of his right forearm and a scratch under his right eye.
The vehicle is described as an older model, four-door, which was covered in clay at the time. The child also told police the vehicle had silver duct tape on the driver’s side and back windows.
