Credit union's Baker branch joins chamber of commerce

Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce members recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Okaloosa County Teachers Federal Credit Union's Baker branch.

BAKER— The Okaloosa County Teachers Federal Credit Union's Baker branch has joined the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce.

The 1,500-square-foot facility — on 14th Street, near Baker School— manages the same number of accounts as OCTFCU's Fort Walton Beach and Niceville branches combined, according to Jerry Maughon, the credit union’s president and chief executive officer.

“If you live, worship or attend school in Okaloosa County, you could bank here,” Maughon said.

Baker resident Bob Jones, who retired as Crestview High School’s principal last year, said having a business account at the Baker credit union for his aerial photography and airplane maintenance business is convenient. He said he saves on gas by not driving to Crestview for banking services.

OCTFCU is the only financial institution available in the Baker area.
