Costa Family McDonald's donates through “Coffee for A Cause”

Every Monday for the next year, Costa Family McDonald's is donating 50 percent of its coffee proceeds to one of the charities listed below each month. The giving program started Oct. 6.

•Making Strides Against Breast Cancer: Breast cancer awareness is a celebration of survivorship  to express hope and our shared determination to make this breast cancer's last century.

•Fisher House Foundation of the Emerald Coast: provides a "home away from home” so that our military families can be together during treatment for serious illness or physical/occupational therapy.   The house is within steps of the Eglin Air Force Base Hospital and Veteran's Clinic.

•Children in Crisis: establishes homes and hope for the abused, neglected, and abandoned children of our community

•Children's Advocacy Center: brings together law enforcement, protective services, and medical professionals in the Florida counties of Okaloosa and Walton to protect victims of child abuse

•Fellowship of Christian Athletes: an interdenominational Christian sports ministry, which works to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches

•Taylor Haugen Foundation: The Taylor Haugen Foundation was created to honor the memory of the 15-year-old Niceville High School football player. Proceeds are used for sports safety equipment to protect young high school athletes.

•Ronald McDonald House: accommodates and offers financial relief to families with children who have life-threatening diseases. It's a "home away from home" for these families while their children are undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
