Coming off a big win over Niceville on Monday the Bulldogs showed no letdown against the Raiders.
Christa Johnson gave the Bulldogs the lead 15 seconds after the opening tip and Crestview 13-8, 7-1) never trailed.
“They are ready to get into that tournament,” Combest said. “The main thing I say is, ‘You can’t coach effort.’
“The players have to bring the effort and they brought it tonight.”
Johnson and K.K. McTear each scored four points in the first quarter, but Coleman was the star of the show hitting three 3-pointers in the opening eight minutes as Crestview led 17-1 after the first quarter.
“It felt really good coming out like that on Senior Night,” Coleman said. “I felt good in warm ups and it was a good win.”
The lone Raider point came on a Julia Ramsey free throw.
About the only question left to answer after the first quarter was what the final margin of victory would be for the Bulldogs.
Crestview led 33-5 at the half and 46-11 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was played with the running clock as the Bulldogs finished off the big win.
Johnson said the younger Bulldogs were glad to do their part on Coleman’s big night.
“It was nice because this was her last home game for now that we know of,” Johnson said. “It was nice that we helped her go out on a positive note.
“It was really important that we were the first seed and we want to go further with it.”
Coleman was the only Bulldog in double figures. McTear added nine points. Johnson, LaKayla Robinson and Dionjenae Hendrix each scored four points.
