The April 11 Kids’ Fishing Clinic in Pensacola aims to teach children a lifelong hobby, instill appreciation for marine environment and provide fun, family outings.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will offer the free clinic — for children between ages 5 and 15 — from 9 a.m. to noon at Plaza de Luna, 900 S. Palafox St.
Fishing equipment and bait are provided for kids to use during the clinic, but organizers encourage children who own fishing tackle to bring it. A limited number of rods and reels will be given away to participants after completing the clinic.
Individuals or companies interested in helping to sponsor this event or volunteering at the clinic should contact B.K. Stroeser at 850-380-1739 or the FWC’s Jason Dalton at 850-487-0554.
See MyFWC.com/Fishing and select the “Youth & Student” option under “Education" for more information.
