BAKER — Coding for a Cure, Baker School's robotics team, has plenty to celebrate.
The team won Best in Show during last weekend's Mini-Urban Challenge at Northwest Florida State College.
For the event, high school students had to design and operate a miniature car "using a Lego Mindstorms EV3 kit to successfully navigate through a model city," the website states.
Locally, Baker's entry had two key goals, according to Stacy Burlison, secondary STEM and physics teacher.
"They were raising awareness for breast cancer awareness as well as programming."
And the team achieved both of those goals.
"I was so proud of them, words cannot even express!" Burlison said.
