Alabama woman killed in Crestview traffic accident

CRESTVIEW — An Alabama woman is dead following a three-vehicle accident that occurred this morning on PJ Adams Parkway between Villacrest Drive and State Road 85.

A 2009 Toyota, driven by 85-year-old Charles Barrett of Town Creek, Ala., struck a 2007 Chevrolet truck, driven by 43-year-old Esxillt Ratcliff of Indiana at around 8:37 a.m.

The Toyota then made a sudden turn into oncoming traffic, where it struck a 2013 Dodge utility vehicle driven by Patricia Christian of Crestview, 40, striking the vehicle head on.

The passenger in the Toyota, 82-year-old Pamela Barrett of Town Creek, was killed on impact.

The Toyota's driver, Charles Barrett, was transported with serious injuries to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola by Life Flight. He remains in serious condition.

The driver of the Dodge was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were uninjured.

The accident is still under investigation.

UPDATE, 11:03 a.m. May 13, 2015:

Charles Barrett, who drove a 2009 Toyota involved in Monday's fatal, three-vehicle accident on PJ Adams Parkway, died yesterday, according to the Crestview Police Department. Two deaths resulted from the accident, which is still under investigation.
