Crestview High graduate among CHELCO scholarship recipients

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Crestview High School graduate Joe Ensor is among three Choctawhatchee Electrical Cooperative scholarship recipients.

Ensor, who plans to major in biological science at Florida State University in the fall, is a member of the National Honor Society, was on Crestview High's track team and works as a server at Cracker Barrel.

Tyler Gaedecke, Niceville High School, and Mary Kate Myrick, Freeport High School, also received the $1,000 scholarship.

CHELCO, a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative, introduced the scholarship program this year to help members or their dependents attend college.

Applicants must be a CHELCO member, spouse of a member or the dependent of a member and use CHELCO lines.

Applicants were chosen based on scholastic achievement, school and community activities, economic need, and the ability to communicate both in writing and in an interview.
