FORT WALTON BEACH — A free self-defense clinic for females age 12 and up is 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 1 at Emerald Coast Martial Arts, 252 Eglin Parkway NE, Fort Walton Beach.
Sponsored by ECMA and the Okaloosa Sheriff's Office, the event teaches attendees to reduce risk streetwise tactical maneuvers and awareness. Master Joe Cayer will also cover prevention and person protection.
Dress comfortably; loose clothing and sneakers are preferred.
