CHELCO schedules tours for historic display in DeFuniak Springs

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Choctawthatchee Electrical Cooperative is celebrating 75 years of service with a historic display at the Walton County Heritage Museum.

The grand opening is 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 29 at 1140 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs. The display includes items that illustrate electricity's role in the rural American household. The Heritage Museum is open 1-4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The display will be on exhibit in August at the Walton County Heritage Museum. It will move to the South Walton Library in September and the Freeport Library in October. CHELCO is seeking locations in Okaloosa County for November and December.

CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative serving more than 46,000 accounts in Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes and Santa Rosa counties.
