Two Crestview residents arrested on drug charges

Patrick Kincses, left, and Frank Merced

NICEVILLE — Two Crestview men charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 18.

Niceville Police officers responded to Bayshore Drive around 1 p.m. July 8, according to the arrest reports. When they arrived, the passenger, identified as 28-year-old Frank Samuel Merced, allegedly put something under his seat.

Officers spoke to Merced and 30-year-old Patrick James Kincses, who was in the driver's seat, but both denied injecting anything into their arms, the report said.

While speaking to Kincses, officers learned that he was on state probation for possession of a controlled substance. He refused to allow officers to search his vehicle and probation was called, according to the report. A probation agent agreed to respond from Crestview to Niceville to assist with the search. Instead, Kincses allegedly admitted that he had a syringe and a spoon in the vehicle.

He was arrested and gave officers permission to search the vehicle, according to the report. Officers found two syringes, an armband, two spoons and a hydromorphone pill in the vehicle.

Merced told officers that he'd placed the spoon under the seat, but that the spoon belonged to Kincses, the report said.
