CRESTVIEW — After School Program In Reaching Excellence, or A.S.P.I.R.E., is now available Mondays through Fridays at certain Okaloosa County School District campuses.
The program — made possible through a 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant — will offer:
●Homework help
●Enrichment activities in the fields of robotics, literacy, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), exercise and nutrition, economics, drama, digital photography, garage band music, community service and more
●Mentoring
●Family nights
●Parent workshops on topics including "What Strong Families Do," financial literacy, cyber safety and "Learning to Talk Academically with Your Child"
Schools offering the program are:
●Baker Elementary (2:30-4:55 p.m.)
●Edwins Elementary (3-5:25 p.m.)
●Elliott Point Elementary (2:30-4:55 p.m.)
●Wright Elementary (3-5:25 p.m.)
Attendance every day is mandatory for participating students. A parent or guardian must attend a mandatory orientation.
