Okaloosa sheriff's deputies charge Crestview teen with burglary

A Crestview teenager is charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, armed trespassing, resisting arrest without violence and criminal mischief.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies chased Bradley Keith Anderson, 17, through woods and subdivisions this morning after receiving these reports of a prowler in the Garden City area north of Crestview:

●4:42 a.m.: A Sonny Lane homeowner who noticed his motion detector light outside, said he spotted someone up against his window looking in.

A video showed the individual trying to pry open a window. The homeowner confronted the prowler, who fled on foot.

●5:30 a.m.: A female on Laurel Lane said a man opened her front door and entered, but ran when he saw her.

Deputies searched the area and spotted a male matching the suspect’s description walking on Auburn Road around 8:25 a.m.

The individual, whom deputies identified as Anderson, ran into woods when he spotted them, according to a media release. A perimeter was set up and a K9 came in to help track the teen.

Anderson jumped fences and ran through multiple backyards, even trying to get into a house in the Brownstone Estates subdivision to escape, but the door was locked, according to the release.

Deputies who captured Anderson at 3348 Citrine Circle said he had a flashlight and was armed with a folding knife.
