CRESTVIEW — The Daughters of the American Revolution's Choctawhatchee Bay Chapter is accepting applications for its 2016 National Society and Florida State Society DAR college scholarships.
The Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship, open to students nationwide, awards $5,000 each year, for up to four consecutive years, to two graduating high school students.
DAR chapter sponsorship is not required, but applicants must be United States citizens and must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States. In addition, they must have a 4.0 grade point average, and scholarship renewal relies on maintaining at least a 3.25 GPA.
Applications — available at www.dar.org — must be postmarked by Feb. 10, 2016.
Florida scholarships do require local chapter endorsement. Call Emily Danker, Choctawhatchee Bay Chapter scholarship chairman, at 803-6789, for more information.
