Sassy teen at Crestview football game due in court

CRESTVIEW — A 16-year-old charged with threatening a public servant, obstruction without violence and probation violation is due in court Oct. 28.

A school official told deputies working a Sept. 18 Crestview High School football game that a teen — a minor, so his name is withheld —  needed to get off the property and not return, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Deputies found the teen and started escorting him out, when the teen began walking faster and shouting profanities, including racial slurs, according to the report.

Outside the stadium, the teen continued trying to leave as deputies attempted to collect his personal information for a trespass warning, according to the OCSO. He eventually pulled free and ran. The deputies chased him, but one deputy fell and hurt himself.

The other deputy said he would Tase the teen if he did not stop. The teen slowed, but refused to go to the ground until the second deputy escorted him there.

In the patrol car, the teen continued shouting obscenities, and told one deputy if it weren’t for his badge, the deputy would be shot, according to the arrest report.
