CRESTVIEW — The 2015 football season ends for Crestview on Friday when the Bulldogs travel to Gulf Breeze to take on the Dolphins.
Crestview (4-5) can avoid a losing season with a win over a Dolphin team (2-7) that has struggled much of the year.
“They (the Dolphins) run around a little bit,” Crestview Coach Tim Hatten said. “I think Coach (Chris) Nemith does a real good job. They run a lot of spread of attack, which we are used to seeing in practice.
“It will be fun. It will be fun for our seniors in their last game. We are going to make sure we get all of them on the field and let them have a good time playing high school football.”
Hatten continued to preach the basics of football as the Bulldogs prepare for their last game of the year.
“You have to be ready to go over there and play,” he said. “We have to play fundamentally sound. We can’t turn the ball over.
“We turned it over, I think, three times Friday night against a really good (Niceville) team. You just can’t do that.”
Hatten said the Bulldogs match up well with the Dolphins. And, if Crestview takes care of its business, it should be a fun, competitive game.
If the Bulldogs win Friday they’ll finish the season with a .500 or better record for only the second time in the last five years.
“We need to finish strong,” Hatten said. “5-5 would be a big year for us. We would love to be 6-4.
”We would love to be 7-3. But all we can do right now is be 5-5 and that’s what we’ve got to strive for. We are going to enjoy our last week of the season and play as hard as we can.”
