Crestview police arrest 5 on burglary charges, seek victims

CRESTVIEW — Police have arrested five people in connection with three counts of felony unarmed automobile burglary.

Crestview Police Department officers on Nov. 20 responded to the report of an automobile burglary in the Whitney Court and Whitehurst Lane residential areas.

They arrested 18-year-old Crestview residents Jordan Medina and Trenton Stepp, who were transported to the Okaloosa County Jail.

Three 16-year-olds, Jonathan Dore, Vincente Turner and Jaidyn Rodriguez, also Crestview residents, were charged with felonies, screened through the Department of Juvenile Justice and released to their parents or guardians.

Police served a search warrant on the vehicle, a blue 2008 Honda, used by the suspects and reportedly recovered two new gaming systems, a compound bow, a semiautomatic pistol, numerous knives, backpacks, illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia while searching the vehicle.

The CPD seeks area residents who may have been victims of these burglaries and thefts.

Victims must identify the stolen items, provide proof of purchase, or identify specific features of the items.

Receipts for the gaming systems must be provided, as officers cannot release the items without proof of ownership.

If you are a recent theft victim, contact the CPDs' investigator, 682-3544, extension 122 or email temples@crestviewpd.org.
