CRESTVIEW — The Crestview Police Department warns residents to beware of a phone call scam.
Someone calling from phone number 202-352-7788 has been contacting Crestview residents, saying he or she is from the IRS and soliciting personal information.
"The IRS does not contact people via the phone systems," a CPD spokesperson stated in a media release. "They will utilize official correspondence.
"Please do not entertain these people's questions or provide personal information, as you may be the next victim of identity theft, especially due to the upcoming tax season."
