NICEVILLE — Crestview High School’s boys soccer Coach Scottie Milton wouldn’t mind seeing Niceville again next month in the District 1-4A. And it has nothing to do with a lack of respect for the Eagles after they beat the Bulldogs 4-1 on Thursday.
“We can play with anybody in the district,” he said. “They are one of the top teams. We can play with of the top teams and hopefully win the district.”
The Bulldogs did in fact play the Eagles tough for the entire match.
Niceville found the net first on a goal by Austin Adair. Crestview’s Tyler Hancock scored on a free quick less than five minutes later to tie the match at 1-1, which is how the first half ended.
The Eagles picked up three goals in the second half to pull away with the win. Tyler Gilley picked up two goals and Javier Reyna scored the other Eagle goal.
“We played hard the full 80 minutes,” Milton said. “A couple of mental mistakes in the second half led to a couple of goals that gave them some momentum, so I’m pretty pleased.”
