RECALL: Meat and poultry products were produced without USDA inspection

WASHINGTON — Neto's Sausage Co., Inc, a Santa Clara, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 7,687 pounds of beef, pork, and chicken products that were produced and labeled with the federal mark of inspection without the benefit of inspection by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

This is a USDA Class 1 recall, issued in a health hazard situation where there is reasonable probability that using the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

The sausage items were produced on Dec. 28, 2014 to Dec. 28, 2015 and bear establishment number "EST. 9027" and "EST 6086" inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were distributed in house, to a local distributor and online nationwide.

The following products are subject to recall:

●Neto’s Sausage Hot Italian Sausage, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Herb-N-Cheese Coil, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Linguiça Coil, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Smoked Bratwurst, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Bratwurst with Cheddar and Jalapeno, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Holiday Sausage Coil, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Pork Links, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Pork Links with Apples and Cinnamon, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Brazilian Smoked Calabreza, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 10 ounces.

●Neto’s Sausage Italian Sausage with Herbs, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 10 ounces.

●Neto’s Sausage Italian Linguiça, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 10 ounces.

●Neto’s Sausage Linguiça Hot, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Polish Kielbasa, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 10 ounces.

●Neto’s Sausage Italian Sausage with Herbs, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Calabrese Brand Italian Sausage, pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Andouille Sausage, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 10 ounces.

●Neto’s Sausage Spanish Chorizo Sausage, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Calabrese Italian Sausage, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 10 ounces.

●Neto’s Sausage Linguiça Sausage, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Garlic & Basil Chicken Sausage, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Jalapeño-Cilantro Chicken Sausage, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 10 ounces.

 ●Neto’s Sausage Spanish Chorizo Sausage, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately one pound.

●Neto’s Sausage Morcella, vacuum-packed pieces weighing approximately 12 ounces.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS in-commerce surveillance activities.                        

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution lists are posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
