SHALIMAR — The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is warning area residents of a card scam.
The office got a message Jan. 11 from a person who got an automated call stating the person's Suntrust debit card is locked. "It directed me to a security person and the computer asked for my 16-digit card number……I don't have a Suntrust card so this is an automated scam," the person who reported the incident stated.
The sheriff's office has notified Suntrust and are telling residents to beware automated calls using any bank name.
