Who is Jacob Langston, the accused Crestview killer?

Kellie Morgan is trying her best to reconcile two images of her former Fort Walton Beach High School classmate, Jacob Langston.

In one photo, Langston stands up straight, looking calm and confident in his Junior ROTC uniform.

In the other, Langston wears a green and white jail jumpsuit, facing charges that he killed his mother, Shanna McGrath; his stepfather, Kevin McGrath; and his former fiancée’s new boyfriend, Elbert Merrick III, during a shooting spree at his home in Crestview on Saturday.

“When something like this happens, it’s hard to say nice things about the person,” said Morgan, who currently lives at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam with her husband and young son. “I know it’s hard to believe, but he was a good kid. He had his issues, sure, but overall he was a good cadet.”
