MOSSY HEAD — No one was injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident that involved a school bus with 30 students and three Crestview residents, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 2010 Blue Bird school bus was stopped at a stop sign on southbound Hitnote Road, at the U.S. Highway 90 intersection, waiting to cross U.S. 90 and continue south onto 2nd Street in Mossy Head, according to an FHP media release.
A 1996 Toyota Camry traveling east on U.S. 90 approached the intersection for Hinote Road.
Bus driver Susan Bass, 64, of Crestview, did not see Ron Anthony McKinnie, 46, of Crestview, approaching in the Camry as the bus entered the intersection, according to the media release.
The Camry, which also carried a 10-year-old child, swerved toward the southern shoulder along eastbound U.S. 90, where the front of the school bus sideswiped the Camry's driver side, according to the FHP.
There were no injuries, but the incident caused $1,500 in damage to the Camry and $100 to the school bus, according to the FHP.
The incident was not related to alcohol, according to the media release.
