CRESTVIEW — Students may apply for a scholarship named for a Crestview businessman.

The deadline to apply for the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce's 2016 Foy Shaw Memorial Scholarship is March 31.

Foy F. Shaw Jr. became an "official" member of the Crestview community in 1956, when he moved to Crestview and established Shaw Moving and Storage, still in operation today. 

Shaw believed very strongly in serving and giving to his community. He served the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce with distinction from the very beginning of his business, according to a chamber media release. "Foy's contributions and service are still vividly present today and his spirit of generosity will continue  with each year's award of the (scholarship)."
