CRESTVIEW — A Palatka, Fla., woman is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and causing property damage to the South Ferdon Boulevard Waffle House in October.
When Crestview police responded to the report of a traffic accident at the restaurant in the early morning hours of Oct. 17, Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office deputies who were at nearby Whataburger at the time said they saw Judy Grace Tabor, 44, back out in her vehicle and attempt to leave the area, according to an arrest report.
The sheriff's deputies stopped her 2015 GMC Suburban from leaving, approached her and noticed she was wearing no pants, couldn't stand without assistance, was slurring her words and had a glassy, bloodshot eyes, according to the arrest report.
Tabor is accused of pulling into the Waffle House parking lot, attempting to park in a vacant parking spot near the front of the building, but instead striking the building with the front bumper and breaking the wall and windows.
Crestview police said they interviewed witnesses, observed Tabor after the incident and examined photos and video surveillance footage, along with medical evidence — a blood alcohol level of .295 — to determine probable cause, according to an arrest report.
She was booked in the Okaloosa County Jail on Feb. 15.
