Baker team ranks high in Math Bowl

Baker School's math students — Brendan McKeeby, Austin Oglesby, Mary Oglesby, Taylor Brunson and Christopher Roller — came in fourth in the 29th Annual Math Bowl.

NICEVILLE — Teams from 19 Northwest Florida high schools competed March 4 in the 29th annual Math Bowl at Northwest Florida State College’s Niceville campus.

After a day-long competition of written exams and ciphering matches, an awards ceremony was held for team and individual winners.

Team winners

Class X: first place, Chipley High School; second place: Freeport High School; third place, Port St. Joe High School; and fourth place, Baker School.

Class Y: first place, Rutherford High School (Panama City); second place, Gulf Breeze High School; third place, Pensacola Catholic; and fourth place, Rocky Bayou Christian School.

Class Z: first place, Chiles High School, Tallahassee; second place, Lincoln High School, Tallahassee; third place, Rickards High School, Tallahassee; and fourth place, Fort Walton Beach High School.

In addition to trophies for individual and team winners, the highest-scoring student in each category received a monetary award.
